Overheard in an Asheville restaurant

We ate lunch at this place where we had to sit entirely TOO close to other people and I could hear every word of the ultra-loud conversation the girls (early 20s) and the older lady with them, seemed like their mom (early 50s?) was saying.

I had my TURKISH husband and my kids with me. He was sitting opposite me and is always oblivious to what's going on around him, so he didn't hear them, but the part of their conversation that I caught went something like this:

Girl 1: Oh, you know, in all of the Middle Eastern countries, all of the girls and women have to completely cover all parts of their bodies anytime they go out. They can't even sit near windows.

Girl 2: How awful it must be to be a woman in a Middle Eastern country, ugh!

Mom-like lady: Well you know...they have to completely cover themselves because the Middle Eastern men cannot control themselves.

LMAO

I am not kidding. I am about 110% confident that if they could tell my DH was Middle Eastern by looking at him, they might have thought twice about making that sweeeeeping, ridiculous generalization out loud. But then they probably think they would know "one" when they saw "one"...just by looking at him! Pissed me off to have that going on right next to me.
