Hi, I'm addicted to Facebook.

My friends have suddenly become much more interesting. Why? I don't know. I can't stop checking, updating LMAO I never cared this much about MySpace. It was too bright and loud and confusing. Crackbook.

My son won't stop talking to me.

What's worse, everything is "look mom, look at this, wait, watch, guess what color light saber I have, guess what guy I am trying to be, guess what I am thinking....just guess, look mom" and it's all from the other room where his DAD is.

OMG OMG I am going to lose my freaking mind. I really actually might.

Role Models (movie)

DH and I went to a movie the other night for his birthday. We were in the mood to laugh and the reviews said this was funny, so we went. It was hilarious! I'm a big Paul Rudd crusher fan, so that was a special treat. McLovin' and Stifler were in it, too!

Don't want to give too much away, but we laughed through most of it! Definitely a well-deserved R rating!

So I saw Twilight last night

I liked it more than I thought I would. There were parts that made my heart pound because they were so hot. But like not a totally sexy way, just hot. I never read the book, so I think I'll borrow them from my DD and get started!

At midnight. Tonight. Twilight.

I will be at the movie theater with my daughter.

Yeah, it's the midnight showing of Twilight and all of her friends are going, so I promised to take her.

I never got past the first couple chapters of Twilight, so I am not sure what to expect, but maybe it'll be fun??

WHY? REALLY. WHY?

I present to you........

The Turducken.

FOUL, I mean FOWL

The girl in the ugly scarf

That's me!

Yeah, yeah...bitching about the MIL again. She told me that my scarf is ugly. Yep. I have an orange scarf that I love, like pumpkin orange. It's gotten a little pilly, but nothing major. Well, today, I was wearing it on my way out and she stopped me and told me that my scarf is ugly and old. LOL Yeah. I'm not kidding. She doesn't speak a LOT of English, but she knows ugly apparently and made the face to go along with it. She gave me money to buy a new one. Oh I know, that sounds all sweet and all, but WTF with telling me that something I clearly like is ugly?? She sees that if I really want something, I'll get it, so really, it's not about thinking that I couldn't otherwise afford it.

Man, who does she think she is? I want to scream. I seriously, I just want to scream. I actually left the house and cried because I am so frustrated.

Get OUT of my shower!

I have school in an hour and I came home from taking my DS to school to find my MIL in the shower. A really long shower. I need to leave in 30 minutes and I haven't even showered yet. JUST SHOOT ME!

I really, seriously, totally will flip the fuck out. Get out of my shower. Get out of my space. You're screwing with my routine and I can't take it anymore.

Now my daughter has pneumonia :-(

May remember that I just got over it myself a couple of weeks ago. Well, my DD has had a "cold" that turned into bronchitis and is turning into pneumonia. Luckily we took her in early and she's been prescribed antibiotics, which should knock it out. Poor thing! WTF is up with all the pneumonia???

Taking Maya Angelou out of school?

Just seems like blasphemy. A local high school (charter) is in the news today because parents want some books off the reading list, including I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings. That seems crazy to me. TO me, that's like not reading Catcher in the Rye or To Kill a Mockingbird. Or Jane Eyre. Or Little Women. Or Wuthering Heights.

Just amazing.

Oh I'm losing my miiiinddd!

My MIL from Turkey is visiting. She speaks very limited English. I speak like 3 words of Turkish. She's been here 2 weeks. She's not leaving till the 22nd. I am SO not into sharing my space. When my kids are in school, I often study. But having someone here makes me looney! Like I am just, I feel like staying in my room all the time because I feel like she's just watching me all the time.

I know that sounds awful. A month is a really freaking long time. She does the dishes, which is nice, but she will be right behind me every single time I put something in the sink. She's trying constantly to push food on my kids, even after they've refused it in ways that she completely understands. She has made my 6-year-old cry twice because she keeps insisting on things and he gets really frustrated. Makes me want to scream.

This is just such a bad time to have someone in my "downtime" space. I am so stressed between getting the house closed this week and the kids' activities, tests in school, PTA stuff, etc that I just want to come home and just know that I am totally, completely alone sometimes.

I KNOW it's just a month, but my GOD it feels like a year already.

The upside is that she doesn't understand English, so she doesn't realize what a b@#$% I am.

Flippin blackboard!

So I'm taking this online course through Wichita State. I go in to take a TIMED test on Blackboard and part of the way through, maybe 2/3, I realize that my computer has frozen. Then I spend the next few minutes trying to get the screen back. When it comes back up, I realize that it's been clocking the time away and my time is UP!!!!! So I have to restart my computer to get it to do anything.

I emailed my professor to see if I am stuck with whatever grade I have from that. I don't even know if it even logged any points because I never submit it or anything.

My baby girl has a boyfriend!

Oh someone help me! She had a "boyfriend" in 6th grade, and they talked about once a week on the phone for 5 minutes and it was usually about manga or Pokemon.

Well she's in 8th grade and has a boyfriend now. He doesn't go to her school, which I think is good because it's not a distraction. It's actually the son of a family friend, same age as her. He's a sweet kid and very responsible, so that's a good start.

I am not really down with the full-on boyfriend thing at 13 years of age, so I guess I need to figure out what's okay and what I need to tell her to cool off on.

Strange. My little girl!
