noBama looks like Obama

I find it HILARIOUS that when I am passing someone on the freeway going 65+, their NoBama sticker looks JUST like an Obama sticker. I only realized it wasn't when we had to come to a screeching halt.

Yeah, it looks like Obama. They need to make the N bigger. But hey, who am I to complain?

Well, so glad that station #6 had gas!

I had to go to SIX gas stations in my town before I could find one that had gas today. All in all, the line wasn't that long, but I was sweating it because I had less than 1/4 of a tank and DH is going out of town this weekend for a week, and who knows when gas will be back in. WTH is going on?

Soon we'll be assigned a "gas day" like the way back.

I'm NOT buying you a new one, child!

My daughter is such a scatterbrain when it comes to her stuff. She left her phone in her pants and we washed it last month...we had insurance, but the deductible was $50!! Got her a new one (same phone).

TONIGHT, I tell her to bring her laundry down. I don't check all pockets, who has the damned time? plus, she's 13. Anyway, we just retrieved her iPod from the WASHER.

Niiiiice!

So she says "well, if it doesn't work, you're going to buy me a new one, you're the one who told me to bring my clothes downstairs". HUH? LMAO I refuse. I will not replace it if it doesn't work. I guess we have to let it sit and see if it will work again.

This is it for me. I've heard ENOUGH about Sarah Palin

Yeah, yeah, call me a bleeding heart, but this "gun-totin" mom also supports "aerial wolf hunting". So it's not enough to have to torture these poor animals fair and square, they want to chase them down and shoot them from a PLANE? This is incredibly cruel and just has me feeling very sick. The fact that anyone would support and even introduce bills to make this legal is so disturbing to me.

Gosh, the more I hear about her, them more I question her compassion and empathy and all of the things that I DO value about women and my fellow citizens.

Sarah Palin & Book banning

Wow, just what we need. More censorship. From a Time Mag article:

Governing was no less contentious than campaigning, at least to begin with. Palin ended up dismissing almost all the city department heads who had been loyal to Stein, including a few who had been instrumental in getting her into politics to begin with. Some saw it as a betrayal. Stambaugh, the police chief and a member of Palin's step-aerobics class, filed a lawsuit for wrongful termination, alleging that Palin terminated him in part at the behest of the National Rifle Association, because he had opposed a concealed-gun law that the NRA supported. He eventually lost the suit. The animosity spawned some talk of a recall attempt, but eventually Palin's opponents in the city council opted for a more conciliatory route.

At some point in those fractious first days, Palin told the department heads they needed her permission to talk to reporters. "She put a gag order on those people, something that you'd expect to find in the big city, not here," says Naegele. "She flew in there like a big-city gal, which she's not. It was a strange time, and [the Frontiersman] came out very harshly against her."

Stein says that as mayor, Palin continued to inject religious beliefs into her policy at times. "She asked the library how she could go about banning books," he says, because some voters thought they had inappropriate language in them. "The librarian was aghast." That woman, Mary Ellen Baker, couldn't be reached for comment, but news reports from the time show that Palin had threatened to fire Baker for not giving "full support" to the mayor.
