Morgan's Photo Art Giveaway!

Today I'm hosting a giveaway for MorgansPhotoArt, which is the Etsy store for a teen photographer. Her photos have won awards, including the regional, district and state levels within the last year. She has an eye for the obscure and the obvious as well. She is giving away one of her beautiful 8x10 matted prints.

Several ways to enter. You can do them all!

1. Go to MorgansPhotoArt and come back here and let us know which print would look great in your house and which room you'd hang it in.

2. You get an extra entry if you "Follow Me" on Twitter and post a tweet about the contest. You can Tweet this contest for an entry ONCE A DAY for more chances!

3. Additional entry if you join my FACEBOOK GROUP

4. And yet ANOTHER entry if you link to me on your blog (please post a link to this).

5. If you buy something from MorgansPhotoArt, you'll get 7 extra entries.

Be sure to create individual comments for each of the above that you've done.

Winner will be chosen on May 1st.

This photo won first place in a State Photography Competition.

Free Apple Youth Workshops @ The Apple Store

I DEFINITELY like these!

Did you know that your kids can take Apple Youth Workshops on topics such as creating slideshows, photo albums, movies, composing music, presentations and graphs and other cool Mac tricks? Yes, I DID say FREE!

To find the Apple Workshop nearest you, visit the Apple Youth Workshops page and click "Get Dates and Times" and it will tell you what's coming up. Here's a tip, though, if it says that registration starts in, say, early May, be sure to register as soon as it's up because it fills up VERY fast!

My daughter and I (parents must be present for the workshop) took the Snap/Photo Workshop this morning. Since my daughter is a photographer, she's always uploading and editing photos, and she's excited that we learned some awesome tricks using iPhoto that we didn't know that we could do. In fact, we were so stoked about the new features in iLife '09 that we bought it to upgrade because the new features are really quite amazing. I'll get to those in the next entry.

1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place!

That art contest I was telling you all about where DD's art teacher submitted her photos? She won 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the Photography category!!! Her photos are going on to a regional contest!

Posting them in order from 1st place to 3rd.

This first place one, people were DYING over it and we overheard one lady say to another "I'd buy that". LOL

So proud of my girl!

She has incredible talent as a visual artist. She draws and paints amazing pictures, but she also came across photography by accident. I bought a digital SLR last summer and she's always got her hands on it. One day, I uploaded it all to my computer and realized that she has such an amazing eye and perspective.

Her art teacher called me this morning to tell me that she wants to enter Morgan's photography into a contest where she could win some money. Not a ton of money, but money. I didn't have anything the required size (8x10), so I had to send some stuff to one hour photo and she is going to submit them all. There are 2 categories, black and white and color. Here are some of the photos that she is submitting:
